It’s important to understand the different types of child care available and the criteria each program must meet to fit your family’s needs. Great Start to Quality offers resources and information to help you make informed decisions.

SWCCR also offers Family Engagement Specialist support for personalized assistance in finding high-quality child care programs.

Information for Providers

Great Start to Quality Resource Centers offer programs and providers:

  • Coaching and Consultation: One-on-one support for continuous quality improvement and navigating the Great Start to Quality platform.
  • Professional Development: Guidance on training opportunities, workforce development, and credential pathways.
  • Lending Library Access: Books, curriculum, teaching tools, and other learning resources to support your program.

License Exempt Providers

Great Start to Quality supports license-exempt providers with training, resources, and guidance.

In addition, SWCCR provides:

  • License Exempt Pre-Service Training for prospective LEP providers.
    • Access trainings via MiRegistry or contact Ra’Shel Abbott.
  • Health and Safety Visits for unrelated LEP providers.
